POS Integration for HK Restaurants | InvSpot
POS Integration

Connect your POS. Close the loop between what you sell and what you spend.

Your POS knows what sold. Your invoices know what was bought. Without connection, you're flying half-blind on margin. InvSpot integrates with EAT365 today (more HK F&B POS systems coming Q3 2026) and links every sale to its true ingredient cost, so you see margin per dish, per shift, per outlet, updated hourly, instead of waiting for month-end.

What is InvSpot POS Integration?

Links every sale from your POS to its true ingredient cost from your invoices, recipes, and supplier history. Hourly margin updates instead of month-end reports.

EAT365 today OAuth connect; more POS integrations Q3 2026
Hourly margin Per dish, per shift, per outlet, synced hourly
Promotion impact See whether your promos actually paid back (Q3 2026)
Anomaly detection Margin drops without revenue drops, Q3 2026
Why this exists

Your POS and your cost data live in separate worlds, and the gap costs you.

The POS tells you revenue. The invoices tell you cost. Without a connection between them, the only place they meet is on a monthly P&L, by which point any actionable insight is weeks too late.

Three operational blind spots most HK F&B operators are flying through:

You don't know real margin until the month closes.

The shift-by-shift, dish-by-dish view of "what actually made money today" doesn't exist in most HK F&B operations. Operators run on revenue intuition, "we were busy", and discover the margin reality in a P&L that's three weeks stale.

Promotions feel like they work, until you check the math.

You ran a 20%-off dim sum lunch promo. Sales went up. Did margin? Without linking sales to recipe cost, "the promo worked" remains a feeling, not a fact. Many F&B promos generate revenue at negative margin, operators just don't see it.

Inventory blind spots compound silently.

Without POS-linked consumption tracking, kitchens over-order to be safe. By the time the spoilage report explains where the money went, you've already paid for ingredients that never sold.

How it works

Connect → Sync → See → Act

01

Connect

What you do: EAT365 customers: approve the connection in your EAT365 admin panel (OAuth handshake, standard secure flow). No CSV exports, no manual setup, no IT involvement for most cases. Additional POS integrations are coming in Q3 2026; if you're on a different POS today, the InvSpot team can scope custom integration for Chain and Enterprise plans.

What InvSpot does: Establishes a secure read-only connection to your POS. Begins pulling sales data and any structured menu information that helps recipe mapping.

Time: ~5 minutes for EAT365.

02

Sync

What InvSpot does: Pulls every sale: dish, quantity, time, outlet, payment method, discount applied. Runs on an hourly sync schedule today (configurable to daily for lower-velocity outlets). Real-time, transaction-by-transaction sync is on our Q3 2026 roadmap.

What you do: Nothing, set-and-forget once the connection is live.

Time: Hourly sync; near-real-time coming Q3 2026.

03

See

What InvSpot does: Combines synced POS sales with InvSpot's ingredient cost intelligence and recipe data. Each hourly refresh computes:

  • Margin per dish selling price minus actual current ingredient cost, updated hourly
  • Inventory burn-down how much of each ingredient was consumed today (refreshed hourly)
  • Per-shift profitability which shifts are actually profitable, beyond just "busy"
  • Per-outlet variance same dish, different outlets, different real margins
  • Promotion impact (Q3 2026) margin on discounted prices vs. menu prices; coming Q3 2026

What you do: A few minutes per day reviewing the dashboard tells you what your monthly P&L won't, and earlier.

Time: ~5 minutes daily review (recommended).

04

Act

Auto-surfaced pattern detection is coming Q3 2026. Today you'll see the same patterns by reviewing the dashboard tiles directly, the data is all there; the alerting layer is what we're adding next.

When this ships, examples will include:

  • "Friday dinner shifts running 4 percentage points below target food cost, check kitchen variances"
  • "The promo combo dish is at -2% margin contribution, pull or reprice"
  • "Mong Kok outlet's margin on 椒鹽豬扒飯 dropped 6 points in 2 weeks, ingredient cost or portion control?"

What you do today: Spot patterns yourself in the dashboard. Daily decisions, not month-end post-mortems.

Time: Depends on the decision; most are minutes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

InvSpot's POS integration is live today with EAT365. Additional HK F&B POS integrations are coming in Q3 2026the supported list grows over time and is current on the pricing page. If your POS isn't on the supported list yet, the InvSpot team can typically scope custom integration for Chain and Enterprise plan customers.

Most operators have the EAT365 POS connection running within 5-10 minutes, it's an OAuth flow. No engineering required, no IT department, no scheduled downtime. The data backfill (importing your historical sales for trend baselines) takes longer, typically completes within a day or two.

No. The integration is read-only and pulls data through your POS's standard API, same load profile as a small reporting tool. Peak service performance is unaffected.

InvSpot's cost intelligence (Invoice Scan, Ingredient Cost Intelligence, Recipe Cost) works standalone, POS Integration adds the revenue-side connection but isn't a prerequisite. If your POS can export sales data to CSV, that can be imported manually for periodic margin analysis even without a live integration.

Sales data syncs from your POS on an hourly basis today (configurable to daily for lower-velocity outlets). Real-time, transaction-by-transaction sync is on our Q3 2026 roadmap. The hourly cadence is fast enough to surface margin trends within the same trading day, typically two to three margin updates by lunch service end.

Yes. Each outlet's POS connects separately. The unified dashboard shows aggregated margin or per-outlet margin, your choice. This is especially useful for spotting outlet-specific issues (one location's margin dropping while others stay stable usually points to a specific operational problem at that location).

Promotion impact analysis is on our Q3 2026 roadmap. Once live, when the POS records a discounted sale, InvSpot will compute the margin on the discounted price (not the menu price), so you'll be able to see whether a promo actually drove margin or just shifted revenue at break-even / negative margin. Today, promo-on/promo-off comparison can be done manually against your synced sales data.

For wedding banquet operations, real-time margin tracking matters acutely: events are priced months in advance, but profitability is determined by how the actual day runs.

The GlassHall Group uses InvSpot POS Integration to see live event margin as the banquet executes, and to bring real margin data into next quarter's pricing decisions.
